A passion for good design
Digital products have the potential to create a variety of negative experiences for end users: fatigue, confusion, anger, ambivalence, boredom. However, with the right focus they can also create amazing user experiences: wonder, magic, joy, and in rare cases they can even change people’s lives for the better.
We look for projects that have the potential to bring this type of joy to people. With our deep experience in consumer web and mobile product design, there are few firms in the industry who can consistently deliver the way we do.
A history of leadership
Prior to starting Launch, Frank spent several years helping Walmart.com redesign their website from the ground up. At Walmart.com, Frank led design projects for many areas including the checkout system, gift registry, photo service and touch-screen kiosks. Subsequently, Walmart.com hired Launch (Then, called Ramirez Design) as a user experience consultant for their global eCommerce initiative.
Striving for a new way to work, Frank started Ramirez Design LLC in 2004 and renamed it to Launch in 2012. Since then, Launch has designed dozens of products for many elite Silicon Valley innovators including LinkedIn, eBay, Yahoo!, PayPal, NetApp, Stanford University, and many start-ups. Products they have designed have been acquired by Disney, Walmart.com, Groupon and others.
Frank was one of the founding board members of the Interaction Design Association [IxDA].
