Interview with John Tavares
1996

In 1996 I interviewed my grandfather, John Tavares in his kitchen on Virginia Avenue in Oakland, CA. The primary goal of this conversation was to listen to his story and preserve it for generations to come. The secondary goal was to get his side of the story for a (yet unwritten) graphic novel I wanted to write about his life, business & family. – Frank Ramirez
